Primark Haul: 1

I love primark as much as the next fashion / beauty blogger, but my experience in the Oxford Street branch today has put me off the high street gem (and crowded public places) for quite a while!
I popped into Primark with the intention of purchasing some clothes that I could romp around Newquay in when I visit late next week- think beachy, throw-on-and-go style and you're pretty much there.
With that in mind, I ventured into the land of Primark, bustling and full of people and their pointy impatient elbows.

The first item I picked up was the navy blue 24 cropped jersey, which was £3. I was drawn to this because of the colour and cut, and the net detail down the sides added some interest- that said, it's one of those pieces that I'm unsure whether i actually like it, or whether it's so hideous that i love it! I also picked up a couple of pairs of the infamous £4 shorts, in the watercolour geometric and the white & blue floral prints. I'm pretty much in love with them, and i can see these being worn to death throughout Summer.
For beach wear, to accompany the swimming costume I already have (expect a Newquay packing post at some point!), I bought a blue / purple tie dye effect bikini with gunmetal colour alien/skull studs. The set together was £10, which is quite steep for a Primarni bikini, but I really love the colours and it feels like really good quality- on par with Topshop, H&M etc.
Crop tops crop tops crop tops! I think like every other blogger in the world, neigh universe, I've gone a little crazy over crop tops. I've been keeping healthy for quite some time now, and although i'm not about to pair a crop top with low slung jeans, I'm comfortable enough with my midriff to have a couple of inches on show- cheeky! I picked out the bambi print (£6- so adorable!) and the Coca Cola (again, £6) tops, but believe me- whittling it down was no mean feat.
One of my favourite items was the stain-glass print skirt that was £8. It's a really thick material, skater style, and really opulent colours that I think, although probably more suited to Autumn, I can't wait to wear nonetheless.
Lastly (bar some boring purchases- standard socks & pants etc!), I got some dungarees. I'm definitely going to find a way to style these in a more stylish way than with the pigtails and wellies that I styled dungarees with aged 5- but can we please just take a moment to appreciate these beautiful pale-wash denim beauties? £12 well spent.

Monthly Favourites: June

*insert typical comment of how quickly this year is going*

But seriously chums, Monday marks the last genuine week of Year 12 that i have, and I can honestly not believe how fast 2013 is going. My favourites of this month have been pretty straightforward, get up and go products that have sustained me on early school mornings and lasted me throughout the day, or kept me motivated.

Essie nail polish is To Buy or Not to Buy- this is a gorgeous pale pastel lilac, which is, for me, the ultimate girly Summer shade. I love the brush, the colour, the application- this ones definitely a two coat wonder. Highly recommend for light-medium skin tones, but it'd look gorgeous on all your beautiful people! £2.99 from Fragrance Direct

H&M Leopard's Head cami- I'm never usually one for skimpy vests, but this stole my heart. I saw it 3 times in H&M before I plucked up the courage to buy it- and it seemed like fate, the only one I could find in the entire store being in my size. I've been pairing it with midi skirts, shorts, high waisted jeans- pretty much everything and it looks (forgive the pun) fierce. £9.99 from H&M

Gum Argan Oil Shampoo- This, in conjunction with the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer has saved my hair. After becoming dry and straw-like, I worried I'd have to go the full chop in order to get my hair back to a state of glossy healthiness, but a few weeks of this has quite literally saved my locks, and I'm now even being complimented on how silky it is! £2.99 from Bargain Buys

Shu Umera Eyelash Curlers- I bought these months ago, on my birthday I believe, and I'm still adamant that I'll never go back to another eyelash curler.  Pricey they may be, but I've never seen a curl hold quite like this. £20 from Liberty (but you can buy them in other department stores or online)

ChloĆ© L'eau De Chloe- This is my favourite Spring/ Summer perfume. I can't even explain why, it just mesmerises me and puts me in an automatically good mood when I wear it. If you like slightly sweet, light floral fragrances, check this out- I can almost guarantee you won't regret it! £61 for 100ml

Charlie Body Spray in Enchant- on the days I feel less like wearing L'eau De Chloe, i've been reaching for this. It's a sweet, almost heady, scent of 'wild apple, honeysuckle and cocunut'. In all honesty, it smells like none of those things, but it smells rather nice. £2.99 from Boots / Superdrug

Other favourites

Song- 'Little Talks' by Of Monsters and Men or 'Young & Beautiful' by Lana Del Rey

Food- Special K Cereal Bars

Blog- What Olivia Did

Film- Wedding Crashers (it's so so hilarious- go watch it asap!)

TV show- Game of Thrones - I've literally only just jumped on the GOT bandwagon, and ploughed my way through Series 1 & 2 in a few days. I then gave myself a break because I found myself caring more about what happened in the lives of the Starks, Targayens and Lannisters (*coughorder of favouritescough*) than my impending maths coursework that needed to be done

Wait for it...

Afternoon chums!
So, as you can probably see, my blog has changed...again.

I'm usually this indecisive, so I'm hoping this time my blog transforms, it'll last a little longer than a few months! Anyway, eldieflower was beginning to feel like it wasn't my blog anymore, so I changed the name of my blog to lucy gum. I like it. I can't explain why, but i feel like it fits me, and it seems more mature to me personally.

I took a break from blogging because I just wasn't happy with my life, so instead of feeling sorry for myself any longer, I took a degree of control and changed things. I now feel I'm in a happier place, and ready to start posting again. Thankyou for bearing with me.
